Community Development Programme (CDP)

FORUM was one of the Model Action Projects of the European Union’s third poverty programme and, since 1994 has been funded under the Community Development Programme (CDP) which is aimed at addressing all areas of poverty and disadvantage. Under the CDP, FORUM’s main aim is to develop locally based activities, which will improve the lives of people in North West Connemara, particularly those who are most disadvantaged.

This is achieved through working in partnership with statutory, voluntary, community and private bodies.  Essential elements of FORUM’s work, through the CDP, are the involvement of local people and the development of sustainable action programmes.
