This is the fourth year of the festival and promises that more mussels will be eaten here this weekend than in any other part of the country. Last year over a ton of mussels were eaten and organisers are set to harvest three tonnes of Killary Mussels for this year's celebrations, which includes music, craic, mussel cooking competitions, children's treasure hunts and set dancing, to name a few.

All weekend long Tully Cross, Tully and Renvyle villages will host a plethora of local traditional and cover musicians. On Saturday evening visitors will have the opportunity to join and learn real Irish Set Dancing. Mussels will be served all day every day throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, try a dive at Scuba Dive West; there are children's activities; professional chef demonstration featuring Connemara Lamb by Gerry Meade and Seafood demonstration by Maureen Uí Chomain. There will be Sean Nós Dancing Workshop with All-Ireland Champion Emma O'Sullivan in the evening, and nightly entertainment each night.

On Sunday, why not participate in the Inaugural Mussel Festival Walk - a guided walk along th stunning Killary where mussels are sourced - through the Famine Village and Devil's Gap. There will be a local food and crafts market; master chef mussel cooking competition, and celebrity chef mussel cooking competition.
